What we don’t see

In the forward march of Progress our society tends to view events as if they are numbers and facts written on paper.

When we are told the city is clearing old apartment buildings to make way for new ones–to create buildings that are up to code with capacity to house many more people–it’s easy not to think about what happens to those people who lived in the old buildings.

On paper it appears as though they are being given the opportunity to live in a better place.

A delicate dance

Slit scan photography. As explained by Colossal:

While regular photos and film give you a full frame image of a single moment in time, slit-scan photos and films capture the world just one line at a time. This results in a two dimensional image where one dimension is continuously (but still chronologically) displaced.
